Clothing Donation Pickup Program Frequently Asked Questions
Why did I receive a yellow card asking for clothing and household donations?
The National Kidney Foundation charity conducts many different types of fundraising activities to provide services to families and patients in need. Our Clothing Donation Program is just one way you can help. By contacting the community for charitable donations of used clothing and other household donations, the National Kidney Foundation can turn your donations into needed funding through Partnership with a local thrift store. Utilizing direct mail is less intrusive for our customers and allows for customers to participate should they choose. Read more information about the NKF Pick Up Program here.

The program also helps to raise awareness for our programs and services. Read more information about the NKF Pick Up Program here.
Why doesn't the National Kidney Foundation of Florida use my Clothing Donation Program items directly?
Enlisting in a trusted and registered partner to collect, clean, sort, and repackage items donated to the Clothing Donation Program allows us to focus our charitable resources on our mission, competencies, and programs.
In addition to generating funds for our programs, the stores we work with that sell the clothing and household items provide a valuable community service through jobs and low-cost shopping opportunities for families on limited budgets. Items that are not resold are recycled when possible.
